Morning Walk

I've been getting back into walking in the morning. The other day I decided to head down to the Jordan River. From the road, I could see that someone has been building something back in the parkway, so I wanted to finally explore it. I turn off of the street, down across the pedestrian bridge, and along the paved path. Immediatley I see how high the river is running. The edge was very close to the trail in places you could never see the water from the trail before. Down the path I go until I was blocked. The river was running over the trail. Too deep for me to walk through (I wasn't up for walking home in soaking shoes), and I vowed to bring my camera with me the next day. I did that, but unfortunately the river had receded off the trail. I still took pictures of the evidence though.

You can't see the river very well here, but it's on the right. The puddle on the left was leftover. The next picture shows how big that "puddle" is. It went back several yards, and ducks were swimming in it.

This is the most interesting spot. River is on the right.
As I walked by the first time, something caught my eye in the puddle. I stopped to look, but didn't see anything. On my way back, I saw it again.

That's right, Koi fish. They must have been in the dirty river, and came over the trail and got stuck in the puddle. It was odd and cool. I saw three of them when they all huddled together at one point.

Here is the building I explored the day before. I didn't feel like walking over to it this day because I had already lingered too long, and I still had a 10-15 minute walk home and I was running late.

It's just crude walls made of scrap material. I don't know what will be inside, but there is nothing in there now. Maybe a garden perhaps. But it's so tall, and there is a 3-4 foot opening between the bottom of the doors and the ground. I think it looks like a giraffe enclosure.
So that was my interesting walk.

What beautiful scenery for I walk. Wish it was that pretty here. There is nothing pretty about the desert.
