Chameleon

My hair has been through quite a bit this last week. It was overgrown and frizzy, so I had it trimmed. I had the layers cut a little more dramatically for  more style.  Then I noticed the greys were getting more concentrated in one spot and decided I was tired of seeing them, so I bought a box of haircolor. I've wanted to go darker for a long time, but was too chicken to just take the plunge. And although I'm blonde, coloring it tends to really bring out the red. I chose a light brunette, and it ended up more red than brown and the kids started calling me Aunt Cari. I love Cari, and I love red hair, just not on me. I took pride in being different than my siblings being the only blonde. Although, if you ask Sal, he will say I'm not blonde.
I took the plunge today. I went medium brown (with cool tones), though it makes me wonder what they consider dark brown. I've had some good feedback already. Sal hasn't seen it yet, or the older kids. I'm glad I chose the box that said cool tones. The reddish hair wasn't jiving too well with my skin tone.

I know I commented on facebook but I love this new haircut and color. It brings out your eyes and you look so beautiful!!!! (but you have always been beautiful.) What does Sal think?

I don't think he was too thrilled at first, but he didn't dislike it. I've had some people wonder why I didn't stay lighter, but those people aren't the type to do something so drastic either. He likes it.
