We've always tried to keep the kids middle names in the family. Lena's was a challenge. By the time I'd gone into the hospital to have her, we still hadn't picked one. We went through the baby name book we found in the bedside table, and Ivana jumped out at us. It sounded good and without too much thought we went with it. She was going to be our odd one out with her middle name - no one on either side has an Ivana (well, that we know of at least).
Now when you see this connection, you'll wonder how we didn't see it before. The other day, as I was in the shower (that's where all my great thinking happens), it came to me. Right out of the blue, I wasn't even pondering it. Lena's middle name is a family name. Take the a off the end and you have Ivan - the name of Sal's grandfather. Only took 5 years to figure that out.
And so, of all days to share my discovery with him, it was on his birthday. Happy Birthday to Sal. Another wonderful thing for him on his birthday: he went to the temple and (proxy) baptized his father.

There you have it Amy. The greatest personal revelations come in the bath tub and shower. :)
We've got several family names within our children's names too, but some were unintentional.
Happy Birthday, Sal!!
