I guess it's no longer a secret. I would have preferred keeping it to ourselves for a little while longer, but the secret is out. And most of you reading this already know it anyway. But I suspect there has been talk of wondering how we can manage this. It's a huge step, that's for sure, but it still took me some time before I said ok to it, and then I didn't say anything to anyone about it until necessary, mostly because Sal had already blabbed and it spread like wildfire, so people asked me about it.
The house we are buying is on Levi Lane in Eagle Mountain. It's a brand new 4 bdrm, 2.5 bath, 2500 sq ft home with an unfinished basement. Not much of a yard, but the community park is right across the street, with the playground being right at our end. Sal has a friend in the High Council who is a real estate developer and the housing slump is kicking his butt. So he is selling us this $280,000 home for $230,000 and carrying the contract. Definately an opportunity you can't pass up. It's very sad to be leaving our ward and our friends though. That was the biggest thing holding me back. I kind of wish that it wasn't so far away from here (about 25 miles) because then I could see these friends more, but we can still call each other and email. And we always have our blogs.
Sal also has a new job. He's an enrollment counselor for Grand Canyon University. At the moment, he's in Phoenix for training. He's been there for a week, and is coming back later this week. We miss him. The kids are really feeling his absence. He will be working in Draper when he returns. Our new house will be a little closer to his work.
So now we are looking for a few appliances, and I'm wondering where to start packing. I moved away from the gang infested neighborhood long ago, but I guess it finally found me. Time to move on again. Lots of things I won't miss about this neighborhood. And I'll tell you, from living next door to a car wash, them people that have to blast their stereos like they're nearly deaf sure do have clean cars. They can be out there for hours.
I'd post the house number, but I can't remember it exactly. Plus, you'd never find it on any online map. Believe me, I've tried. It's still too new of an area.

Congratulations on the new house, it is Very nice. I think you guys will love it. It will be sad to see your family go, because you've been here for so long and our families are friends, but the move is a big move up, and you have to take those when the opportunity presents itself and circumstances will allow. We're planning on moving back to Texas in a couple of years for law school, so we won't be here much longer either. How is Sal liking training?
I still say "Yeah right." I'm in denial.
