Changes

We've lived in this ward for 8 1/2 years. We're old-timers for this ward. We've seen many people come and go. We've seen the ward cycle from jumping to limping. People move out and people move in. Only these days, people are moving out and very few are moving in. We're starting to hurt in the leadership department.

Let's see if I don't leave anyone out. The people serving in these positions have moved or will soon: EQ pres, YW pres, YW 2nd counselor, VT coordinator, Primary Pres, the ward mission leader and a primary teacher. Our Enrichment Leader/Compassionate Services gal asked to be released (due to time constraints). We've only had one teacher in RS for months, our pianist moved months ago. Primary hasn't had a pianist for most of the year. The High Priest group was dissolved due to lack of leadership (wasn't really anyone to do it, and Sal will correct me if I'm wrong). We barely got a nursery leader that would show up. Kaydee spent about 2 months with me in RS. You can see we are hurting.

So our RS president who has only been serving a couple months was put in as YW pres and took one of our counselors with her. I am the new Enrichment Counselor (the last one is now the pres.). And there is a new secretary. They have an education counselor, but she wasn't there yesterday, so they didn't sustain her. I don't know who it is. I'm sure that one of the current primary couselors will be the next pres. But that won't happen until after the Primary Program. The current pres is planning her wedding around that. Oh, we also haven't had any cub scout leaders for a while. The previous one is in the YM presidency, but he still holds meeting every other Saturday so the boys can continue to earn their badges.

Sal will be released from the High Council. He is needed in the ward. Sorely needed. The bishop told me they already have plans for him.

And to top off this exciting church day, I helped pack up the RS and YW closets in preparation for our move to the Stake Center. Next week (actually starting with this weeks Enrichment) we will be meeting there until they fix our building. The roof in the cultural hall is collapsing, and they will be checking the rest of the building too. I certainly won't miss the stairs.

If you stay in the ward long enough you will get to serve in every organization in every position. The ward is lucky to have your family.

I finally read your blog. Sure can see your ups and downs, but with four kids, you are going to have them. You are a good Mom and church worker. Like Megan said, stick around a while and you will cover everything.

We would love to see you, bring Kaydee and we will have lunch. Love u Gramma
