Still a small world

I originally posted this back on June 3, 2008:

Do you ever get amazed about how small the world really is? This past Sunday, we had the opportunity to hang out with family and reminisce about the old days in the Yucca Valley 1st ward. As I suppose it should, kids grow up and get married, and people scatter like the wind even though it seems like if we ever went back, everything should be just as it was when we left. But even as scattered as we are, we always come across one of those people or a relative of them or even a friend and I am somewhat fascinated at how small the world, with it's billions of people, seems.

I still am fascinated. Facebook gives me suggestions for friends based on friends I already have. Sometimes I click on that suggestion to see who we would have in common and it's funny to see some that I would have 2 people in common with and those 2 people don't know each other. Two people who may live on opposite sides of the country and who I met in different circles of my life have a friend in common. Small world. An example from today : My Facebook friends Jessica L. and Jessica K. have common friends by the last name of Dent.

It is such a small world! I mean, we're connected via SLCM and by my Aunt in your old ward. Then, one of the first people that I met when we moved back to CA happened to go to school and graduate with my husband! And here I meet here in the library of this small town! Crazy!
