Summer is almost over

Summer went by rather quickly this year. The boys ran a lemonade stand for most of the summer. They had the chance to earn money to buy their own school clothes this time. Maybe they might take better care of them, Maybe not. We'll see. Kaydee went to a few weeks of summer school. She was at risk of regressing, so that made her eligible. In a couple of weeks, she starts kindergarten. It won't be much of a change from preschool. She'll be going 3 hours a days 5 days a week instead of 4 days a week like she was in preschool. She will be starting occupational therapy too, and continuing with speech therapy and physical therapy.

We still don't have any answers to the source of her disability. But she does have an appointment at the end of the month with the geneticists. It has been a rather frustrating process. I just wish they'd do the test already.

Lyndon will be in 8th grade this year, Nolan will join him at junior high in 7th grade. Lena will be all alone at her school, in 3rd grade. She will continue with the Spanish dual immersion program. Since Kaydee needs too many extra services, she has to stay in our home school district and will go to a different school than Lena. After too many problems with boundary changes and bullies, I enrolled the boys in the neighboring district, and naturally Lena went with them when she started school. Even still, Kaydee will not go to the same school as the neighborhood children.

Nolan received the priesthood a few weeks ago. I was up on the stand the day he passed the sacrament the first time and was able to watch him the whole time. I think some people noticed. He just still seems too little to be that old. But it's something he's been waiting for for a long time. That day, all 3 of my boys passed the sacrament. It was wonderful to see.

I really have some wonderful kids.
